I have to say that I am right there with the "Why you have it matters" thing, if a person has a low mpg minivan because they have 2 kids, 4 foster kids and 2 dogs they adopted from the humane society I feel a lot better about them owning the minivan (apposed the person who is a baby factory, pumping out a kid every 2 years because it is "Gods will"). The same with trucks if it is a small farmer, homesteader, or a handyman I feel better about them owning a truck for work then the guy who owns a truck because it is "manly". Does that person own a Jeep because they travel rough roads during harsh weather with a SAR (Search and Rescue, in most places are volunteer) group, or because they like the image.

I really feel like why you own something affects how I feel about you owning it. *Smiles* If a person is other wise frugal it can mitigate things too.

You're right; there will always be someone better (and someone worse!) It's true, there can be a bit of competition, friendly or otherwise. But when I read those kinds of comments on a blog, I try to take them as a source of inspiration rather than a contest for self-comparison. That way, I can learn something that I may be able to apply in the future, instead of just feeling inadequate!

The soap I mentioned actually comes in a box, so none of the individual units are packaged, but my guess is the box could be closed overnight. I've seen other soaps that have simple sleeves or boxes that aren't air-tight; I've used a few of them as well but I haven't noticed any problem with them. Also, I leave my soaps open after they've been wet and I haven't noticed any problems.

HI.
I came to your site searching for 'eco friendly soap packaging.' I make handcrafted natural soaps. I am curious about the soap you mention in this post that came without package at all. How was this done? Do you think soap that is left out would retain all it's properties when exposed to air for undisclosed amounts of time? Though it may be more eco friendly, for lack of packaging, wonder the role of packaging...
What are some other packages you have found eco-friendly? Thank you.
